Storytellers Creative Arts begins new arts outreach reaching the disadvantaged.
Youth at Get Creative Day at the Amigos Center in Immokalee, Florida.
In the Fall of 2019, SCA launched its arts outreach to underprivileged kids in Southwest Florida starting at Youth Haven in Naples. The Saturday outreach includes storytelling, music arts and sports activities. Youth Haven is Southwest Florida’s only emergency and residential shelter for boys and girls ages 6-18 who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. In addition to its partnership with Youth Haven, Storytellers continues to reach Immokalee, Florida children and families at the Amigos Center and New Horizons After-School Clubs in Naples, Florida.
Says Bill Barnett, SCA President:
“We are blessed to be a catalyst of healing and transformation in the lives of children and youth in Southwest Florida. Their stories are expressed through the creative process, opening the door to hope and healing, through faith and the arts. We prayerfully anticipate the mission of healing and transforming lives to be accomplished, expanding into other areas in our community.”
Storytellers is expanding its outreach, reaching hundreds of students in our community who are underprivileged bringing hope and healing through the arts.
